Dr. M.D.Selvaraj obtained B.Tech. and an M.Tech. in ECE from Pondicherry Engineering College (now-named as Puducherry Technological University ) and Ph.D. from IIT Delhi. He began working as a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Kancheepuram in 2012 where he is now a Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering. In the past, he held the role of Dean (Sponsored Research, Industry Consultancy and Continuing Education) and Head of the ECE department. From DST and other agencies, he has got funded projects totalling more than one crore. His teaching and research interests include Digital Communication, Wireless Communication, Spatial Modulation, Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access, and Cooperative Communication. In these research areas, he has supervised a number of B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. students.

Prof. Selvaraj was an Associate Editor in Elsevier Computer and Electrical Engineering (2018-2021). He is currently in the editorial board of IETE Journal of Research. He is Founder Branch Counselor of IEEE Student Chapter at IIITDM Kancheepuram. He has been an TPC member of National Conference on Communications (NCC) and the SPCOM for the past ten years. He served as a member of the Board of Studies (BoS) for numerous institutions in Tamil Nadu.  He is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is acting as reviewer for DST project proposals. He is a Selection Committee member for faculty selections in CFTI and other private Universities. He shares his expertise by presenting a number of invited speeches at reputed seminars and conferences.

Dr. S Yuvaraj

Dr. S Yuvaraj is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh. He has over 10 years of research experience in the domain of RF and Microwave Engineering. He did his Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University Tiruchirappalli. Later, he did M.Tech degree in Microwave Engineering from Indian Institute of technology (BHU) Varanasi and PhD degree in RF and Microwave Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He has received academic fellowship award for both M.Tech and PhD degree programs. His area of interests includes high power microwave sources, antennas and passive microwave circuits. He has published over 40 papers in international journals and conferences.

Overview of Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) antennas for nextgeneration wireless Systems

Abstract:

This talk addresses the development of innovative antennas for orbital angular momentum (OAM) beam generation and their applications. A comprehensive exploration of OAM beam generation methods in the microwave region will be discussed with special emphasis on reflectarrays and
uniform circular array (UCA) antenna. Development of a single-layer reflectarray for broadband OAM beam generation, emphasizing polarization insensitivity and mode purity will be covered. Design of reflectarry with hybrid unit cells along with planar feed sources will be discussed. Talk will also focus on the design of UCAs for OAM beam generation. Design techniques of UCAs for reducing feed complexity and enhancing azimuthal symmetry of the OAM beam will be discussed.

Dr. Debdeep Sarkar

Dr. Debdeep Sarkar is an Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He obtained his B.E. in ETCE (Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering) from Jadavpur University, India in 2011, and his M. Tech. and Ph.D. in EE (Electrical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, in 2013 and 2018, respectively. He has worked as a Visiting Researcher (May 2017-Aug 2017) and Post-doctoral Fellow (Nov 2018-Feb 2020) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Royal Military College, Canada. 

Dr. Debdeep has authored 1 book, 1 book chapter, 3 Indian patents (one Granted, two Filed), 50 peer-reviewed Journals and 100+ conference papers to his credit. He regularly peer-reviews in multiple IEEE Transactions and Letters and serves as Associate Editor in IET MAP and IEEE Access. He has received URSI Young Scientist Award (2019 and 2020), Infosys Young Investigator award (2020-2022), IETE Sri C Viswanatha Reddy Memorial Award, 2022, and several best paper awards.

Trends and Career Perspectives on Antennas and Electromagnetics

Abstract:

Breakthroughs in the fields of antennas and electromagnetic wave propagation in MHz to THz frequency range are playing pivotal roles in shaping up the next generation information & communication technology, healthcare, security/defense and renewable energy sector. In the present era, engineers working in the domain of antennas and propagation are working towards innovative design solutions for: (i) High capacity communication-links based on MIMO and Full-Duplex technology, (ii) Futuristic 6G communication using Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), (iii) Radar technology in both military and civilian (eg. automotive) applications, (iv) wearable and Implantable healthcare devices supporting wireless power transfer and energy harvesting, (v) compact low-cost antenna solutions for Internet-of-Things (IoTs), and many such scenarios. This talk will give a brief overview of these diverse application areas of antennas and applied electromagnetics research, especially focusing on the cellular and automotive technologies. Furthermore, emphasis will be put on the benefits of being part of IEEE, with special mention of the IEEE AP Society Young Professional activities.

Dr. Debarati Ganguly

Dr. Debarati Ganguly received her Bachelor of Science, Electronics Hons. (B.Sc) Degree from University of Calcutta in the year 2008 (1st Class, 2nd rank in the University), followed by her post B.Sc B.Tech and M.Tech (Specialization in Microwave and Wireless Engineering) and Ph.D Degrees in the year 2011, 2013 and 2020 respectively from the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta. She has served as Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Royal Military College, Canada in 2018-2019 (after thesis submission) and has worked as DST-SERB National Post Doctoral Fellow at the Institute of Science, (IISc) Bangalore 2022-2023. She has served in Kerala Technological University, Trivandrum as Assistant Professor from 2013-2018 in the Dept. of Electronics and Communication, Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology, Visiting Faculty in the Dept. of Optoelectronics, University of Kerala in the year 2021 and as Assistant Professor in the Dept. of ECE, IIIT Kota, 2023(Sept-Dec). Currently, she is serving as Assistant Professor, in the Dept. of ECE/CSE, Indian Institute of Information Technology, IIIT Kottayam, Kerala. Her research interests include Time Domain Characterization of Ultrawideband (UWB) Antennas, Antennas for RF/microwave ablation of solid tumors, Implanted Antennas for Biomedical Telemetry, Rectennas for RF energy harvesting for IoT Greens. She has published several research articles in IEEE and Elsevier journals and in IEEE international conferences She has co-authored a book for B.Tech UG ECE Curriculum with Cambridge University Press, “Basic Electronics: Principles and Applications”. She has received the INAE Award for “Mentoring Engineering Teachers by INAE Fellows” in the year 2015, SERB National Post Doctoral Fellowship in 2022, DST-International Travel Support for attending 35th URSI General Assembly, 2023 and Best Paper Award in Academia Category in IEEE MAPCON, Dec, 2023.

An Overview of Antenna Applicators for Therapeutic Modalities: New Perspective and Need for Interdisciplinary Research

Abstract:

With the inception of non-surgical methods to cause cell necrosis in abnormal tissue mass and decrease the probability of malignancy in solid tumors, it is necessary to amalgamate the state-of-the art technologies in Electromagnetics, RF/microwave and Wireless communication with that of Medicine Biology. The purpose of the talk is to infuse in the concept of interdisciplinary research imbibing both these segregated fields for the advancement of healthcare. The talk will focus primarily on the design principles of different types antenna applicators when designed for both hypothermal/hyperthermal and non-thermal ablation of solid tumors and the challenges of real-time laboratory testing in in-vitro or ex-vivo environment. The talk will address the engineering aspects involved in the diagnosis to prognosis of unresectable solid tumors and the biological effects of the proposed non-surgical procedures on live tissue

Dr. Vijay Shanker Tripathi

Dr. Vijay Shanker Tripathi is a distinguished academician and researcher currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Dr. Tripathi initiated his educational pursuits with a Bachelor’s degree (B. Tech.) in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from J. K. Institute of Applied Physics and Technology, University of Allahabad, in 1988. His academic journey also includes a Master’s degree (M.E.) in Electronics & Communication Engineering, specializing in Digital Systems, obtained from MNNIT Allahabad in 1999. Dr.Tripathi completed his Ph.D. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from MNNIT Allahabad in 2007.

Dr. Tripathi’s research interests include RF Systems, such as Microstrip Antenna, Metamaterial Based Antenna, Filtenna, Implantable Antenna and DRA. He is also actively engaged in the development of Non-invasive RF Sensor Systems, Near-Field Imaging for medical applications, and explores avenues in Intelligent Transportation Systems, Software-Defined Radio (SDR), Neural Networks, and Cognitive radio. Dr. Tripathi has authored and co-authored more than 80 research publications including 30 international journal papers. Additionally, he has contributed to national journals with two publications and participated in 10 national conferences.

Dr.Tripathi is a Senior Member of IEEE having memberships of several IEEE societies including IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, IEEE Biometrics Council, IEEE Council on RFID, IEEE Sensors Council, IEEE Vehicular Technology Society and IEEE Nanotechnology Council.

Dr. Tripathi has been actively involved in organizing several Workshops, Meetings, Conferences, and Short Term Courses. Recently, he has served as the General Chairofthe IEEE International Conference on “Microwave Antenna and Communication (MAC 2023) ” at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, from 24th to 26th March, 2023.

Apart from his academic pursuits, Dr. Tripathi is actively involved in various professional organizations. He currently serves as the Chair of the Student Activities Committee (SAC) for the IEEE UP Section, Chair of the IEEE Sensors Council UP Chapter, Secretary of the IEEE MTTS UP Section, Advisor for the IEEE MNNIT Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTTS) Student Branch Chapter.

Revolutionizing Healthcare: RF Sensors in Biomedical applications

Abstract:

IEEE believes in advancing technology for humanity. The discussion focuses on new technologies and research that are advancing the use of RF sensors in medicine and examining new and effective solutions and new approaches of using RF devices and sensors for various bio-medical applications.

RF sensors can seamlessly measure bio-signals from different organs and tissues of the body, thereby helping in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, while maintaining optimal sensitivity and safety levels. Possibilities are enormous, and they will be discussed in this talk. Using RF sensors in various bio-medical applications such as heart disease detection, cancer detection, vital detection, remote health monitoring, organ system status monitoring, Non-invasive Glucose monitoring etc. will be discussed. Analyzing data from RF sensors can improve the observation of patient’s parameters and lead to the discovery of new treatment regimens.

Furthermore, these new technologies can provide new avenues for treatment and diagnosis in the medical field, making it possible to detect and treat diseases in a timely manner. Diagnosis and treatment of many diseases can be supported by RF sensors. The issues and challenges, alongwith there solutions in this interesting area will also be discussed in this talk.

Mr. Murali Krishna Pattabhi

Mr. Murali Krishna Pattabhi is a post graduate in Biomedical Engineering with a graduation in Chemical Engineering. He is a certified green belt six sigma professional and also the co-founder and Director of Novel Patent Services, which is the only established company in the entire state offering unique business solutions in the domain of IPR, with over 16+ years of experience in IPR domain. Overseas the IPR operational vertical for India, US and European based corporations, where he has overall responsibility of executing and supporting the IPR operations of the entire firm. He is also the co-founder and Director of Novel IPR Academy, the only IPR Academy in the Southern India. He brings a variety of experience in cross functional roles across engineering, IP, technology, business analysis and management. Mr. Murali is an Alumni of GITAM university, Nalsar University and holds certifications in IPR from WIPO Geneva. He is currently consultant for many industrial firms and also is guest faculty IPR at various engineering colleges and have chaired many IPR conferences and have held many IPR workshops and on hands training sessions in IPR especially in the areas of patent search and analytics.
